General Admissions Criteria
Students will need to be over 18 years of age for admission onto the management courses offered by our Business School.
Each course at our Business School will have its own entry requirements. These vary depending which country you are from. Please see the Entry Requirements page (link to Entry Requirements page) for more information.
Every application is considered individually. Many factors such as intentions, maturity, motivation and work experience are considered in support of your application.
Processing applications
Our admissions office aims to turn around your applications in 1 to 2 working days However, in some cases (rarely), your documents need to be checked with respective organisations, awarding bodies, financial institutions or our partners, which may delay the processing time by 3 to 4 working days.
Applications
In order to enable our staff to process your application quickly and efficiently, please forward a completed application pack to us as early as possible. We prefer to receive application packs via email attachment.
The application pack should consist of the following:
- A fully completed college application form that has been signed by the applicant. Criminal convictions and disability fields must be completed as appropriate. It is our college requirement that you provide us with your full home address.
- A copy of the front and back page of your passport.
- Copies of all verified college / university transcripts and certificates to date.
We will also require verified secondary education (A level / Secondary School / High School / Form X and XII) transcripts and certificates. All documents have to be in English (documents in other languages need to be translated into English by an approved translator and have to be certified by the translator / interpreter). - Work experience certificate if applicable.
- A copy of the applicant's IELTS or TOEFL or PTE score certificate
- A detailed personal statement.
This needs to be a minimum of 150 words and not more than 350 words. It should explain your reasons for applying to our college, selection of the course, how it is going to help you reach your career goals as well as brief information about your family background.
Please be sure to inform us of any allergies, special diets, or medical conditions that you may have. Spinnaker College will not be held responsible for any problems relating to our students’ medical conditions unless these have been brought to our attention prior to booking confirmation.
Please Note: all the above mentioned documents need to be scanned (only scanned original copies of documents are acceptable, but not photocopies) showing all the information, from left to right and top to bottom on a page.
Please Note: Submission of an incomplete application pack will lead to a delay in processing.
On receipt of your application documents, our admissions team will assess your application as quickly as possible and make a decision based on the entry criteria set by the college.
For Business and Management courses, it is likely that one of team members will speak to you.
Offer Letters
Offer letters will contain the details of the student, title of the programme being offered, course fees, starting date and the ending date. Any offer conditions will be clearly detailed in the letter.
All initial offer letters will be sent to your specified address by email.
Once a decision has been made, our admissions team will inform you by email and authorise the production of one of the following letters:
- Conditional: You will be required to submit additional proof of eligibility or meet the financial requirements. This could include the completion of existing qualifications, advance fees payment for the CAS letter, English language tests or additional supporting documents, such as references or a personal statement.
- Unconditional: An unconditional offer, which is called the Confirmation of Studies (CAS), cannot be given to you until you have made the necessary advance fees payment.
- Rejection: The applicant does not meet the colleges’ academic criteria for entry. The college reserves the right to reject applications that they suspect have been supported by fraudulent documents.
Final documents will continue to be sent to you by courier or airmail as appropriate.
Please Note: you will need to bear the courier charges.
On confirmation of your place in the college and after receiving the advance payment, unconditional students will be issued with a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), which they will require for the visa application process.
Conditional applicants will not receive any further documentation until they have met all the conditions of their offer and as requested, supporting documents have been forwarded to our admissions team.
