Lily - Senior Teacher and Activities Organiser

“In class I want you to enjoy your time and feel comfortable talking with other students, so that you use the language as much as possible and continually improve. I enjoy meeting students from all over the world as I also get to learn about different cultures.”

Before teaching in Portsmouth, Lily gained a BA (Hons) in Hispanic Studies and English from Birmingham, did her CELTA in Brighton and spent a year in Mexico.

Maimoona - Teacher

Paul - TeacherPaul

"Learning English in our modern world is vital in order to share ideas, breakdown barriers and understand the differences between our cultures. I encourage students to participate fully in class, helping them gain confidence to communicate and express themselves freely."

As well as teaching Paul is a qualified Osteopath, practising part time in Southsea. He enjoys travelling and learning about other people’s cultures. He is a keen motorcyclist, likes rock climbing and skiing. He’s a volunteer crewman with the Royal National Lifeboat Institute, and is a trustee for the mental health charity, Feel Good UK.

Jenny - Teacher

"I like to make my classes as fun and varied as possible, giving you lots of opportunities to interact with other students and practise your English. Whatever your level, both your ability and confidence will quickly improve!"

Jenni has a BSc hons in History and Environmental Studies and gained her CELTA at Chichester College.

Ian - Teacher

"I believe that every student can make massive progress in English in a short time, but do this in a fun way. In my classroom I aim to provide a supportive environment where different cultures can meet, communicate and share their learning experiences, where you'll improve your skills and confidence to use English in real life situations and to fit your own needs, for example in work or education.

I am local to Portsmouth, qualified with CELTA in 2010 and have taught EFL and Adult Literacy. I have a first degree in Linguistics and a passion for languages. Before qualifiying in teaching I worked for ten years as a retail and bank manager. In my spare time I love to explore and visit new places, and I also enjoy running and playing squash."
