What is ESOL?.
Dates for Cambridge Exam 2013.
Cambridge ESOL Certificates – ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) are language exams that allow you to evaluate your ability in English for real communication situations. They are developed by Cambridge University, who also design and organize the exams.
FCE (First Certificate in English):
- Upper-intermediate level (B2 in the Common European Framework).
- The student will learn to write and speak English in common everyday situations.
- Required certification by companies if you are to start working in an English speaking environment.
- With this level, you can gain access to intermediate-high international studies (like Erasmus grants).
- The basis for preparing for the next Cambridge ESOL levels.
The written exam will be taken on:
- 9th of March
- 13th of April
- 8th of June
- 22nd of August
- 12th of October
- 7th of December
Speaking exams will be taken approximately one week before the written exams. The date will be known one month before the exam date.
CAE (Certificate in Advanced English):
- Advanced level (C1 in the Common European Framework).
- Deal with fluent English in social environments.
- Qualifies you to apply for intermediate managerial positions.
- At this stage, you can gain access to most English and international universities.
The written exam will be taken on:
- 16th of March
- 6th of April
- 12th of June
- 23th of august
- 19th of October
- 4th of December
Speaking exams will be taken approximately one week before the written exams. The date will be known one month before the exam date.
CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English):
- Highest level (C2 in the Common European Framework).
- Extremely high ability in English skills - close to native ability.
- For business, CPE will help you attain high level managerial positions.
- A requirement for access to postgraduate courses in universities around the world.
The written exam will be taken on:
- 9th of March
- 13th of June
- 5th of December
